Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH Company, seeks an experienced operations supervisor to oversee an aggregates mining crew in Ohio, managing personnel, equipment, trucking and materials.

You will direct the crew, ensure resources are allocated effectively, complete daily reports, and maintain schedules, payroll and safety inspections.

Strong communication with Plant Manager, Quality Control and external partners is essential; travel and night/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related experience in mining/industrial operations.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct operations of an aggregates mining crew including personnel, equipment, trucking and materials.
• Supervise and direct crew to ensure proper placement of resources.
• Must complete required daily reporting.
• Maintain proper job records such as schedules, progress, payroll, equipment, safety inspections, etc.
• Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
• Monitor the need for labor requirements and coordinate requests through the Plant Manager.
• Conduct weekly safety Toolbox Talks training and internal safety inspections to ensure safety policies are practiced and enforced.
• Establish correct field calculations and communicate cost yields and accountabilities.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to assure specification requirements.
• Track and record fuel usage, hour meter readings, and mileage reporting for equipment.
