Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Missouri is seeking an Operations Manager to lead shift production, drive performance, and safeguard quality and safety across the plant. You will manage budgets, mentor teams, implement HACCP/SSOP, and pursue cost savings while delivering consistent, reliable production outcomes.

You will also champion safety standards, optimize resources, and ensure regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ relevant experience.
• 2+ years in team management or project leadership.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Team Management: oversee shift production operations and direct leaders to ensure safe, efficient processes and motivated teams.
• Operational Efficiency and Cost Management: partner on layout improvements, oversee automation projects, and track costs to meet yield/efficiency goals.
• Safety and Ergonomics: lead safety and ergonomic programs, train staff, and enforce safety protocols to reduce injuries and costs.
• Quality and Compliance: maintain HACCP/SSOP compliance and address product failures and CCPs.
• Contingency and Accountability: follow and update SOPs and cover responsibilities in absence of key personnel.
