Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to keep the concrete plant running smoothly. You will perform varied maintenance tasks, inspect equipment, and conduct preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

Welding, electrical, and plumbing skills are valued, with safety and documentation as ongoing responsibilities. Candidates should have hands-on maintenance experience in plant environments, plus a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in plant/industrial/manufacturing maintenance; concrete plant a big plus.
• Skilled in electrical work, plumbing and welding; certifications are a bonus.
• Quick-thinking problem solver who can handle tough repairs under pressure.
• Strong communicator who works well both solo and as part of a team.
• Committed to safety and familiar with plant safety rules and regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or vocational degree is a bonus.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable operating plant machinery.
• Willing to complete SRM’s pre-employment screenings; available for nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Keep our plant running strong by handling a wide range of maintenance tasks.
• Inspect equipment and systems regularly to spot issues before they become problems.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to help avoid breakdowns and keep production moving.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they come up.
• Put your welding know-how to work fabricating, repairing, or reinforcing plant equipment and structures.
• Work closely with plant leaders to prioritize what needs fixed first, keeping the plant running best.
• Keep clear records of your work—what you fixed, parts used, and time taken.
