Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years' experience in Maintenance or other related Engineering discipline obtained in Power Plant or similar industrial process or military service.
• Understand and are committed to maintaining safe work practices.
• Strong technical background and understanding of industrial equipment and systems and operations; previous power plant experience preferred.
• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices.
• Able to effectively manage several projects at one time.
• Understanding the elements of the maintenance management process.
• Able to effectively communicate through a variety of media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Familiar with other maintenance disciplines and understands the relationship between equipment, mechanical, electrical, and controls.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Directs the plant maintenance activities to maximize equipment and unit availability.
• Supervises a team of Operations and Maintenance Technicians in performing maintenance activities.
• Maintains a safe work environment and enforces safety rules.
• Ensures control room and simulator access for the team.
• Advocates environmental compliance and follows environmental procedures.
• Develops repair strategies and maintenance schedules with leadership.
• Assigns scheduled and emergency maintenance; requests additional resources as needed.
• Administers the Employee Code of Conduct and collective bargaining agreement.
• Performs semi-annual performance reviews for applicable employees.
• Develops budget requests for equipment and system maintenance and capital improvements.
• Tracks expenses and forecasts monthly within budget.
• Assumes standby responsibilities and responds to emergencies.
• Trains employees in proper use of tools, safety and maintenance practices.
• Assists departments in monitoring equipment and determining maintenance scope.
