Job summary

NiSource is seeking an experienced maintenance supervisor to direct plant maintenance activities and maximize equipment availability to support operations. The role emphasizes safe work practices, cost control, and high asset utilization through effective maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 4+ years in maintenance/engineering in power plant or similar.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Strong technical background in industrial equipment and systems; power plant experience preferred.
• Ability to use predictive maintenance techniques: thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, tribology.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance procedures and practices.
• Able to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Understanding the elements of the maintenance management process.
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Valid driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Operations and Maintenance Technicians in performing corrective and predictive maintenance on plant systems and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety rules and procedures.
• Review job sites for hazards; conduct pre-job safety briefs.
• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop repair strategies and maintenance schedules.
• Assign scheduled and emergency maintenance activities; determine need for overtime or contracted services.
• Develop budget requests for plant equipment and maintenance; track expenses to stay within budget.
• Respond to emergency calls; standby on a rotating basis.
• Train and evaluate employees in tools, machinery, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices.
• Ensure environmental permits and procedures are followed; emphasize environmental compliance.
