Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance workforce at a coal-fired power plant. You will supervise, plan, and direct daily and weekly work, troubleshoot equipment, and oversee outages with cross-disciplinary teams in a high‑safety, high‑production environment.

The role requires strong knowledge of power plant operations, tool use, blueprints, and safety practices, with willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5–8 years of coal-fueled power plant or similar heavy industry experience desired.
• Ability to use standard and precision tools, read blueprints, plans, and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and provides technical direction to the maintenance workforce.
• Plans, schedules, and supervises day‑to‑day and weekly work.
• Assists with troubleshooting of equipment problems.
• Manages outages, including planning, outage meetings, and coordinating multi‑disciplined work groups.
• Oversees predictive and preventive maintenance activities and equipment performance analysis.
