Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance teams across plant operations, ensuring reliable equipment performance and compliant maintenance practices. You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, mentor technicians, and partner with Production to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience acting as a lead with training or mentoring staff.
• Ability to lead problem solving for high-level process issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Plan and schedule maintenance in collaboration with Production; implement TPM and SOPs.
• Ensure maintenance tasks comply with USDA regulations and maintain records.
• Own crisis management and continuity responsibilities when key personnel are absent.
• Drive employee development and coaching to foster a positive work environment.
