Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Plant Maintenance Superintendent to lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors, drive reliability, and minimize downtime on production lines. You will develop bold strategies to keep production running at full capacity.

You will implement Preventive & Predictive Maintenance programs, partner with the Plant Engineer to manage SAP PM, and mentor staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; 3+ years’ relevant experience.
• Experience leading maintenance teams or projects.
• Strong mechanical/electrical skills (PLCs, instrumentation).
• Knowledge of world-class maintenance systems (PM, TPM) and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance supervisors to minimize downtime and improve plant efficiency.
• Implement and manage maintenance systems (RCM, TPM, PM) to maximize capacity.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance within the maintenance function.
• Schedule work, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop maintenance staff.
