Job summary
AdvanSix is seeking an Instrument Mechanic to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems across our industrial facilities in Virginia. The role requires an Associate degree in Instrumentation or 2 years of relevant experience in chemical/industrial environments, with strong problem-solving and PLC/DCS knowledge.

Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Instrumentation or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls installation, troubleshooting, and repair in a chemical/industrial environment
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, instrumentation design and repair techniques
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-functional team
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and systems (transmitters, switches, analyzers, control valves, relays)
- Maintain PLC/DCS and related automation systems
- Read manuals, schematics, and P&IDs
- Perform and document calibrations and PM activities
- Support job plans, shop papers, and ordering non-stock parts
- Provide 24/7 operations support and handle overtime as needed
- Communicate with planners and interface with equipment manufacturers and technicians
