Job summary
AdvanSix is hiring an Instrument Mechanic in Richmond, VA to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems in a chemical plant environment. You will work with PLC/DCS, sensors, transmitters, and related equipment, performing calibrations, PMs, and documentation while supporting 24/7 operations.
Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Instrumentation or 2 years of related experience in an industrial setting, strong problem solving, and the ability to work
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Instrumentation.
- 2 years of experience in instrumentation and controls installation, troubleshooting and repair in industrial settings.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-functional team.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems (PLC/DCS, transmitters, sensors, etc.).
- Calibrate instruments and perform preventive maintenance for instrumentation equipment.
- Update maintenance documentation and support 24/7 plant operations.
- Interface with manufacturers, vendors, and technical support.
- Read manuals, schematics, and P&IDs; read and follow job plans.
- Work overtime as required and operate in an industrial environment.
