Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a General Manager for the Nashville, TN site. You will lead all shift production operations, manage budgets and the P&L, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across multiple facilities.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams to achieve operational excellence. You will oversee salaried and hourly production leaders, drive cost savings, and ensure a high-quality, safe work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business or related field with 10+ years in plant management or equivalent
• 5+ years of demonstrated team management experience
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fast-paced environments
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel 10–20% as needed

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all shift production operations, directing salaried and hourly production leaders
• Manage plant budgets, drive P&L growth, and align with strategic goals
• Champion safety, quality, and community relations while driving continuous improvement and cost savings
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth across multiple facilities
• Travel 10–20% for meetings and site visits
