Job summary

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp is seeking a General Manager to lead a multi-site plant operation, directing budgets, labor and materials to optimize profitability and safety. You will drive continuous improvement and coach a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in plant management and at least 5 years of people leadership. Travel to multiple locations may be needed; relocation could be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business or related field and 10+ years' plant management experience.
• 5+ years of demonstrated team management/development experience.
• Ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment; strong collaboration skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all shift production operations and direct production leaders to meet goals.
• Manage the P&L and budgets across business units; drive growth and profitability.
• Ensure safety, quality and community relations in the operation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, cost savings, and process optimization using structured methodologies (A3).
• Foster accountability, innovation, and professional growth across the team.
