Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is hiring a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift in Nashville, TN. You will oversee the production line, drive safety and quality standards, and coach a team of hourly employees to meet daily targets while maintaining USDA and HACCP compliance.

You will lead efforts in continuous improvement, monitor yields and efficiencies, and coordinate with Operations Managers to minimize downtime and control costs in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience leading and training staff or managing processes/projects.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel up to 5%.
• SAP, spreadsheets, and inventory software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Compliance: perform daily inspections and lead safety audits.
• Product Quality and Training: enforce quality plans and train employees on SOPs and lock-out/tag-out.
• Operational Efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, variances, and drive workflow improvements.
• Team Leadership and Communication: lead hourly employees, run monthly line meetings, and communicate objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: analyze metrics and implement changes to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
