Job summary

Riviana Foods Inc. in Memphis seeks a Plant Engineer to lead engineering for processing and packaging projects, balancing costs, schedules and customer satisfaction.

You will apply engineering principles, design flows, and prepare drawings to drive value across the facility. The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years of project management in food systems, and hands-on expertise with PLCs, process control, AutoCAD, and office software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years PM experience in design/installation of food processing/packaging systems.
• Experience with process control and packaging equipment is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to analyze and plan requirements for projects and cost studies.
• Prepare specifications and drawings for processes and packaging flows.
• Lead projects through design, installation, commissioning and qualification.
• Ensure compliance with permits, environmental, sanitary design, GMP, safety and OSHA.
• Specify, obtain bids, and purchase equipment and services to meet schedules.
• Supervise plant labor, contractors, and service personnel for project completion.
• Provide mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and technical support.
• Administer training for new equipment and systems installed.
• Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the facility.
