Job summary

Riviana Foods Inc. in Memphis, TN seeks a Project Engineer to lead processing and packaging capital projects from concept to start-up.

You will plan scopes, schedules, and budgets, coordinate internal teams and contract firms, and ensure regulatory compliance and safe operation across facilities. The role requires 5+ years in project management for processing/packaging systems, strong engineering and analytical skills, and proficiency with SAP, AutoCAD, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or engineering-based degree; mechanical or chemical preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in design and installation of processing/packaging systems; packaging equipment a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; other languages a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with strong organizational skills.
• Experience with SAP systems; SAP knowledge a plus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% to 40% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to analyze and plan food-related processing/packaging projects and cost studies.
• Prepare engineering specifications; design process and package flows; prepare drawings.
• Prepare project approvals; maintain documentation; monitor costs within projects.
• Lead projects from concept through commissioning to meet scope and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with permits, environmental, GMP, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Solicit bids, select equipment, and procure services to meet schedules.
• Supervise plant personnel, contractors, and service teams; coordinate activities.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support across Riviana facilities.
• Implement maintenance and operator training for new equipment and systems.
