Job summary

Bunge in Decatur, IN is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead environmental, health and safety programs, aiming to prevent serious injuries, fatalities and environmental incidents. You will collaborate with plant leadership, corporate EHS teams, and the workforce to drive continuous safety improvements, develop training, manage incidents, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Science, Engineering, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in safety and environmental disciplines.
• Proven experience improving SIF potential incidents and high potential exposures (HPEs).
• Demonstrated success applying EHS standards, regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe working environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to influence and motivate others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise in all EHS matters for the plant, championing a safety-first culture.
• Implement, maintain, and update all EHS programs to meet company standards and regulations, focusing on SIFs, HPEs and environmental incidents.
• Ensure adherence to global EHS requirements and local regulations, maintaining permits, licenses and records.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors and visitors; mentor staff on safe work practices.
• Track, investigate, and analyze injuries, illnesses, near misses, environmental incidents, and non-compliance; implement corrective actions.
• Conduct audits and observations to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote environmental sustainability initiatives and partner with corporate EHS teams to track progress.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans; oversee fire protection and security systems; liaise with regulators.
• Implement Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to strengthen safety culture.
• Communicate EHS information effectively to leadership, employees, contractors and visitors.
