Job summary

General Mills Wellston, OH Plant is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership for electrical and controls systems across the site. You will collaborate with project engineers, systems engineers, electricians, plant floor personnel, and leadership to drive reliable operation.

You will implement PLC and HMI hardware/software, mentor the controls team, and manage capital projects and obsolescence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
3+ years of related experience.
Experience with Wonderware Intouch, InSql, DAS, and System Platform.
Experience with AB ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC, PanelViews, InCuity, and RSLinx.
Knowledge of serial, RIO, DH+, Ethernet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
Ability to apply NEC/NFPA 70E and company standards to plant equipment.
Experience leading electrical contractors and third-party controls integrators.

Responsibilities

Provide safety culture and address issues to prevent injuries.
Support operations and maintenance in controls and information systems.
Lead PLC/HMI hardware/software and manufacturing networks per standards.
Manage electrical/controls architecture including servers, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
Coordinate with engineers, operations, maintenance, and external vendors on capital projects.
Mentor and develop the controls team; manage obsolescence and capital plan input.
