Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a Plant Controller to join our Industrial Finance Controllership team in Fullerton, CA. You will be on-site, leading finance processes and partnering with operations to drive profitability.

Key responsibilities include GAAP reporting, SOX compliance, inventory control, asset management, budgeting, and performance analysis to support strategic investments and ROI. Strong manufacturing finance background required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in financial statement analysis, product costing, and business case development.
• A strategic thinker who can work independently while collaborating across all levels of the organization.
• Visa/work authorization in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial governance and internal controls.
• Maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policies.
• Lead month-end and quarterly closing processes to ensure timely reporting.
• Drive SOX compliance and strengthen the site’s internal control environment.
• Oversee inventory management including year-end inventories and cycle counting.
• Manage the fixed asset sub-ledger, CIP reviews, and asset audits.
• Proactively identify accounting risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Plant Manager to provide transparent, actionable financial reporting.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
• Analyze plant performance and variances to drive operational improvements.
• Deliver financial presentations to plant leadership and corporate stakeholders.
