Job summary

Mohawk Industries in Calhoun, GA is seeking an Assistant Plant Controller to join our finance team. This role partners with the Plant Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, supports budgeting, forecasting, costing, and strategic planning for the plant, and helps drive process improvements.

You will analyze performance, prepare monthly statements, monitor variances, and provide timely financial information to plant management and corporate finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 2-4 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate budgeting, forecasting, costing, and strategic planning.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and performance metrics for the plant.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for the plant.
• Monitor actual performance against budget/forecast and explain variances.
• Collaborate with plant management to develop strategies to achieve financial targets.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information to plant management and corporate finance team.
• Support month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with audits, reconciliations, and analysis of capital projects.
• Consult with plant management to gather information on production, inventories, and payroll.
• Maintain integrity of the plant’s financial statements for business decisions.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
