Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Plant Controller for a large-scale operation in City of Industry, CA. The role offers a salary between 140k and 160k USD depending on experience, with scope to influence cost control and financial planning across manufacturing functions.

Responsibilities include standard costing variance analysis, BOM costing, inventory controls, and leading month-end close processes. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years’ cost accounting experience and prior supervisory

Responsibilities

• Analyze variances in material, labor, overhead and outside processing in a standard costing system.
• Manage manufacturing BOM changes, standard rates, cost rollups, GL accounts and product costing for all products.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and uphold inventory controls; lead annual physical inventories.
• Analyze gross margins, identify trends, and communicate findings to leadership.
• Evaluate purchase price variances with purchasing and determine root cause and impact.
• Support month-end balance sheet reconciliations and close processes.
• Lead financial planning processes including budgeting and forecast updates.
• Coach and train costing team and oversee internal controls improvements.

Job description

Plant Controller needed for a large scale company located in the City of Industry, Ca. Will pay 140k to 160k DOE.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Analyze Material, Labor, Manufacturing Overhead and Outside Processing Variances in a standard costing system, including root cause analysis.
• Responsible for the manufacturing BOM changes, standard rates, cost rollups, GL accounts and product costing for all new and existing products.
• Monitor inventory accuracy for adherence to inventory controls.
• Lead annual physical inventories.
• Analyze gross margin results, correct anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings.
• Evaluate Purchase Price Variances in conjunction with the purchasing department and identify root cause and financial impact.
• Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage analysis of utilization, efficiency and productivity metrics.
• Lead the execution of the recurring financial month-end close process including preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
• Enhance accounting systems and processes, particularly those related to billing, while creating and maintaining internal controls.
• Lead the Financial Planning process including annual budget and quarterly reforecast.
• Manage all facets of local audits
• Manage, coach and train costing team.

• Strong cost and inventory accounting required.
• Supervisory experience required.
