Job summary

LHH is assisting a mid-sized manufacturing client in New York to hire a Plant Controller who will manage general and cost accounting, reporting, and month‑end close for the plant.

You will oversee a three-person team, drive process improvements, and partner with executives. Requirements include 10+ years in manufacturing accounting, a Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA a plus), and strong ERP experience. Onsite role with a salary of $130,000–$150,000 plus bonus and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing
• CPA preferred but not required
• Experience in aerospace/defense/electronics manufacturing is a must
• 3+ years of management experience
• Strong ERP experience and ability to collaborate with executives

Our client is a mid-sized, successful and well-established manufacturing company.They are looking to hire a talented Plant Controller to manage the general accounting, cost accounting and reporting for the company. They are looking for someone with prior Controller level experience within a manufacturing company, preferably in the defense, aerospace, electronics manufacturing space. This role requires working fully onsite and offering a salary in the range of $130,000 - $150,000 plus bonus, strong benefits package inclusive of health insurance, 401k with match, tuition assistance and a generous PTO program.

Responsibilities of the position include:

• You will manage day-to-day accounting for the plant
• Oversee a team of three
• Evaluate current processes, offer improvement ideas
• Heavy involvement in month-end close, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
• Assist outside auditors with year-end audits

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 10+ years of accounting experience required, CPA license is a plus
• Experience in the aerospace, defense and/or electronics manufacturing field a must
• 3+ years of management experience required
• Strong ERP experience
• Top notch organizational skills and the ability to collaborate across the company
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with company executives
