Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions, partnering with a long-standing third generation manufacturing company in Minnesota, seeks a Cost Accountant/Analyst to support cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance to improve profitability and performance.

The role involves standard costing, variances, month-end close, ERP governance, and process improvements within a sizable accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting experience a PLUS
• Knowledge of standard costing, manufacturing variances, inventory control, GAAP, and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
• ERP experience required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costs, inventory valuation, BOMs, routings, and item master data.
• Monitor manufacturing variances, material costs, freight costs, production performance, and gross margins.
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage new item setup, revisions, product costing, and inventory classifications
• Assist with physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory discrepancy investigations.
• Prepare sales and use tax filings and support audit requests.
• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams to identify cost savings and process improvements.
• Serve as a local ERP subject matter expert and support EDI onboarding activities.
• Develop and maintain SOPs related to inventory control, costing, and financial processes.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports, monthly reconciliations, end-of-year reporting, budgets, and forecasts
• Provide year-end physical inventory support
• Monitor and track production variances (material usage, labor, purchase price)
• Work with site locations to leverage capacity and capabilities
• Support preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

Job description

We are partnering with a long-standing third generation manufacturing company on a Cost Accountant/Analyst position. You will support manufacturing operations through cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, forecasting and ERP data management. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve profitability and business performance. Fairly large accounting and finance group, MANY areas of the business to evolve + grow!

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
