Job summary

US Aggregates is seeking a Plant Clerk to support plant operations and the sales team with administration and customer service. You will back up dispatching, manage hauler scheduling, oversee daily ticketing and weighing, and ensure accurate ticket verification.

The role handles visitor safety checks, daily cash sales, and daily reporting to QC and site management. You will assist with quotes, updates, and training of backup clerks while maintaining strong internal communication.

  • Enter quotes and assist with sales communications as needed.
  • Maintain PO's, invoicing, and coordinate with managers.
  • Train backup clerks and share process improvements with the team.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and support sales on order status.

Build your career at US Aggregates!The Plant Clerk is a support partner to the US Aggregates plant operations and sales team. The role will provide administrative and customer support to position the teams for optimal performance.Essential FunctionsPrimary backup for dispatching, scheduling haulers for daily loads for your site, as needed.Responsible for all daily weighing and ticketing of trucks for the site.Check and verify daily tickets for accuracy.Responsible for all visitor check-ins, safety requirements for visitors and site specific training for the site.Scanning and filing daily tickets.Responsible for processing all daily cash sales for the site.Responsible for updating and compiling daily CAPP report, submitting weekly/monthly to QC lab and plant manager for the site.Assist sales coordinator and sales team in communicating quote information or entering quotes as instructed.Assist sales coordinator and sales team with job updates, new things happening within the territory or location.Responsible for training all backup plant clerks for the site.Manage all PO's for territory, work with Area Manager and Plant Managers on billing, invoicing, and other items as needed.Assist with safety submissions as needed.Support sales team as appropriate on any customer issues. Offer support on key jobs status. Function as the liaison between the sales, operations and other appropriate internal teams to ensure seamless operation. Provide regular communication between sales and operations team.Partner with sales team to identify opportunities for improvement in communication on sales activity and job status.Provide accurate and prompt response to all customer inquiries.Handle daily phone calls, office mailing, faxing, general office filing.Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.Education QualificationsRequired High School or Equivalent GEDSkills and AbilitiesPossess outstanding organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.Strong ability to communicate with both internal and external individuals.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects, while supporting multiple sales professionals.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.Demonstrated ability to build relationship and work in a collaborative and team based environment.Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to create streamlined processes and efficiency.About US AggregatesUS Aggregates is a privately held, family-owned business headquartered in Indianapolis.
