Job summary

US Aggregates is seeking an Equipment Operator/Laborer to maintain production, quality, and safety across our aggregates operations. You will operate heavy equipment (front-end loaders, haul trucks, skid steers), perform pre- and post-shift checks, fuel and service equipment, and maintain logs and records.

The role requires adherence to safety rules, documentation, and teamwork in a dynamic site environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
  • Ability to work with a team and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated safety awareness and compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment (front-end loaders, haul trucks, skid steers, etc.).
  • Fuel, oil, grease, and perform routine checks on equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintenance logs; maintain records.
  • Participate in safety briefings and training; follow safety rules around tracks and equipment.
  • Abide by plant policies, PPE requirements, and operating procedures.
  • Assist with general site upkeep and process improvements for safety and efficiency.

Build your career at US Aggregates!As an Equipment Operator/Laborer, you will have responsibility for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the aggregates operations function, including but not limited to, operating heavy equipment, such as Front-End Loaders, Haul Trucks, Skid Steers, etc.Essential FunctionsOperate, service, and maintain various heavy equipment including front-end loaders, off road dump trucks, skid steer, man-lift, fuel truck and water truck in order to keep plant clean and in productionResponsible for fueling, oiling, greasing equipment as well as understanding the equipment's safety manualPerform pre-shift and end of shift checks and maintenance on equipmentReport orally and in writing to as required and maintain accurate records (i.e. activity reports, inventory reports, maintenance logs, etc.) as directedParticipate in general training, job specific training and hazardous materials training as required; successfully complete written examinations as requiredUnderstand and follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules as applicable to facility, job function and equipment, including rules governing safety around railroad tracks and equipmentKeep facilities and equipment clean and maintainedRecommend changes to the operation which may produce safer work processes, savings and efficienciesAbiding by yard rules, safety regulations and PPE requirementsAccurately completing all required paperworkAbide by terminals processes and procedures relating to product transfers, quality assurance, safety, and operationsComplete required training and certifications necessary to perform duties safely and effectivelyOther duties as assignedAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.Education QualificationsRequired High School or EquivalentSkills and AbilitiesMust maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performanceFollow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on scheduleRead, write, and communicate in English & understand basic mathWorking knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principlesComplete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventoryParticipate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management, or customerMust be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assignedFlexibility required; ability to work days, nights, weekendsPerform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMust possess and exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to get things doneStrong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferredWorking Conditions/Physical DemandsMust have the ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven groundMust have the ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways and incline catwalksMust have the ability to bend, crouch and/or kneel at the waist or kneesMust have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbsAbility to work outside the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions.
