Job description

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Manage, lead and support production planners and schedulers.
  • Develop and implement the overall production planning strategy in alignment with company goals and sales forecasts.
  • Develop detailed production schedules for all manufacturing processes, considering lead times, capacity constraints, and material availability.
  • Create and maintain master production schedules, work orders, and production plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements to production planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on best practices and new technologies in production planning and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement and maintain relevant planning software (e.g., ERP, MRP).
  • Work with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, material personnel on material status and production planning.
  • Supports and trains all departments to ensure proper processes in the ERP system.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning, scheduling, and inventory management (e.g., on-time delivery, production efficiency, inventory turnover, forecast accuracy).
  • Prepare regular reports on production plans, schedules, and performance for management.
  • Plan and manages production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders.
  • Ensure that materials and equipment are available when needed for production process.
  • Plans and coordinates changes in scheduling to accommodate special request.
  • Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory, production operations, scheduling and BOM data in ERP system.
  • Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, providing input on production capabilities and constraints.
  • Expediting and prioritizing job orders with Project Managers.
  • Coordinates and manages internal production meetings.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and ability to work on‑site.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, with respect towards the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, work in a fast‑paced environment, and interchange with others in the department.

Requirements (knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Ability to supervise up to 15 exempt employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion Inc. policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Excellent communication skills (oral and written), ability to work well with others, self‑motivated, ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and Experience (required Levels)
  • Bachelor’s degree required in one of the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • In lieu of a degree:
    • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in production planning, scheduling, and materials management may be considered.
