Anne Arundel County Government seeks a full-time, permanent Review Analyst (Planning Technician II) in the Office of Inspections and Permits. The role focuses on reviewing subdivision proposals and ensuring zoning and permit compliance within the County.

The position requires high school graduation and 2+ years in planning, subdivision control, or zoning enforcement; substitutions may apply. Strong communication with property owners and professionals is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of zoning classifications and setback requirements.
• Ability to interpret site and construction plans to ensure compliance with the Code.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and subdivision plans; write and speak effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Maintaining effective work relationships with other employees and the public.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial and residential building permit applications for compliance with County zoning and subdivision regulations.
• Assess development impact fees, permit application fees, and grading securities as required by the County Code.
• Review documents submitted as permit approval requirements for legality and expediting review and approval.
• Communicate effectively with property owners, County employees, and design professionals regarding permit-related matters.
• Maintain grading permit records and draft legal documents for review and approval by the Department.
