Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a Review Analyst (Planning Technician II) to join the Office of Inspections and Permits. This full-time, permanent position focuses on development, maintenance, and revision of planning and zoning information, with regular interaction with subdividers and property owners to explain requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing permit applications for zoning compliance, calculating fees, and drafting related legal documents.

Qualifications

Knowledge of zoning classifications and setback requirements.
Ability to interpret site and construction plans to ensure compliance with the Code.
Ability to read and interpret maps and subdivision plans; write and speak effectively.

Responsibilities

Review commercial and residential building permit applications for compliance with County zoning and subdivision regulations.
Assess development impact fees, permit application fees, and grading securities as required by the County Code.
Review documents submitted as permit approval requirements for legality and expediting review and approval by the Department.
Communicate effectively with property owners, County employees, and design professionals regarding permit-related matters.
Maintain grading permit records and track legal documents during the approval process; draft legal documents for review by the Department.
Perform related tasks as required.
