Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a full-time Engineer in the Engineering Division of the Department of Inspections and Permits. The Engineer I–III levels offer increasing independence with a focus on stormwater, drainage, utilities, and road projects.

The role requires reviewing plans, ensuring code compliance, and working with developers and agencies to provide timely, practical engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Two or more years of professional engineering experience for Engineer II; four or more years for Engineer III.
• Valid non-commercial Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review road, storm drain, water and sewer plans for permits and subdivisions.
• Coordinate reviews with Planning, Public Works, and other agencies.
• Provide technical guidance and perform independent engineering evaluation.
• Respond to drainage questions and site development concerns.
