Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking a Planned Giving Associate Director to raise increased funds through identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding current and prospective planned gift donors. You will develop an annual Planned Giving plan and manage a large donor portfolio to drive engagement and pipeline growth.

Collaborating with Marketing, Major Gifts, and Events teams, you will execute targeted communications and stewardship activities, with an emphasis on donor

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, planned giving, major gifts, or a related development role.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors while managing a large donor portfolio.
  • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing donor engagement strategies, communications, and cultivation events.
  • Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and tracking donor activity, metrics, and pipeline progress.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 150+ current and prospective planned giving donors by developing and advancing meaningful relationships through strategic cultivation, personalized communication, and ongoing stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute planned giving communications strategies, ensuring targeted outreach is timely, materials are accurate and up to date, communication metrics are tracked and analyzed.
  • Collaborate with the Individual Giving and Events teams to plan and execute annual planned giving cultivation and stewardship events, while strategically engaging current and prospective planned giving donors.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a Planned Giving Associate Director to raise increased funds through the successful identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective planned gift donors.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and implement an annual Planned Giving strategic plan in partnership with the Major Gifts Director, incorporating goals, timelines, performance metrics, and targeted marketing and communications strategies to drive planned giving awareness, donor engagement, and pipeline growth.

Manage and grow a portfolio of 150+ current and prospective planned giving donors by developing and advancing meaningful relationships through strategic cultivation, personalized communication, and ongoing stewardship. Conduct regular donor meetings, calls, and site visits to identify opportunities, deepen engagement, and move donors through the planned giving pipeline.

Collaborate with the marketing team to execute planned giving communications strategies, ensuring targeted outreach is timely, materials are accurate and up to date, communication metrics are tracked and analyzed, and messaging is refined based on performance data and donor engagement trends.

Collaborate with the Individual Giving and Events teams to plan and execute annual planned giving cultivation and stewardship events, while strategically engaging current and prospective planned giving donors through site visits, signature events, and other donor engagement opportunities to strengthen relationships and advance giving.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, credit check, and a driving record check
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Must have a reliable internet connection

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $34.62 - $40.87 OR $72,000- $85,000
Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. They range from entry to mid-level.
