Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Engineer II to design and develop ground-based fluid piping systems for a development program in Huntsville, AL. You will own fluid subsystems from sizing through operation, coordinating with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering, 2+ years in a related field, and experience with pressurized piping and P&IDs. Travel up to 20% and potential relocation are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Nuclear, or related).
• 2+ years of professional experience in a similar sector (aerospace, petrochemical, power, etc).
• Demonstrated experience in design and development of pressurized piping system architectures.
• Strong technical fundamentals.
• Experience in fluid system sizing calculations, layout, component and material selection.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and similar consensus codes.
• Experience generating plumbing and instrumentation documents (P&IDs).
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership of fluid subsystems.
• Perform fluid sizing analysis for complex pressurized piping systems.
• Select components and generate specifications.
• Collaborate with production to resolve manufacturing/procurement challenges.
• Assist operations to fabricate, install, activate, and operate fluid systems.
• Ensure maintenance aligns with design intent and requirements.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain for cost-effective sourcing.
