Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Piping Designer for a confidential data center project in Houston, TX. The role focuses on piping design with 3D CAD tools, including Revit, and involves design, layout, and checking of deliverables under minimal guidance.

You will provide technical guidance on assigned projects, lead a design team, and ensure adherence to codes, standards, and procedures. This contract-to-hire position offers hybrid/remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in piping design techniques.
• Experience with CAD and 3D design tools.
• Proficiency in Revit 3D.
• Sound understanding of engineering terminology and industry practices.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
• Understanding of design and associated design documents for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design and detail layouts with minimal instruction, following written procedures and guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance for assigned projects.
• Design, layout, and check deliverables.
• Utilize CAD systems, including 3D design tools, efficiently.
• Monitor design and drafting work of CAD personnel and coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.
• Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
• Provide schedules for work assignments.
• Prepare calculations to support designs.
