Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Piping Designer for a confidential data center project in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on piping design, 3D modeling, and delivering layouts with guidance and adherence to procedures.

You'll provide technical direction and check deliverables using CAD tools, including Revit, while coordinating with other disciplines. The position supports hybrid or remote work, with a strong emphasis on safety, codes, standards, and efficient drafting workflows.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in piping design techniques.
• Experience with CAD and 3D design tools.
• Proficiency in Revit 3D.
• Sound understanding of engineering terminology and industry practices.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
• Understanding of design and associated design documents for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design and detail layouts with minimal instruction, following written procedures and guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance for assigned projects.
• Design, layout, and check deliverables.
• Utilize CAD systems, including 3D design tools, efficiently.
• Monitor design and drafting work of CAD personnel and coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.
• Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
• Provide schedules for work assignments.
• Prepare calculations to support designs.
