Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks a Manager, Pipeline Safety to lead the PSMS program (APEX) and enterprise initiatives. This role drives governance, design, and execution of API RP 1173 aligned safety programs across Operations, Engineering, Compliance, and more.

You will translate leadership direction into initiatives, manage risk, and collaborate with regulators and industry peers to enhance pipeline safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, operations, business, PM, risk management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years leading cross-functional programs, process improvements, or management-system implementation.
• Demonstrated experience converting strategic or regulatory requirements into executable processes, governance, measures, and sustained operating practices.
• Experience preparing and presenting complex operational or safety information to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects and programs aligning with API RP 1173 and PSMS requirements.
• Coordinate enterprise initiatives, governance, and management-review activities.
• Develop and implement MOC, risk-based decision making, and continuous improvement processes.
• Present performance metrics and risk insights to senior leaders; drive corrective actions.
