Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a hydraulics engineer based in Englewood, CO with options for Billings, MT or Casper, WY or Houston, TX offices. You will perform steady state and transient hydraulic analysis of liquid pipelines and pump stations, using SPS or AFT software, and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams on oil and gas projects.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in engineering, FE exam completed, 3–8 years of relevant experience, and is willing to pursue PE licensure.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of the FE exam and willingness to pursue PE licensure.
• Pre-employment drug screening required and valid driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.3, API standards and CFR 195.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software SPS or AFT preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline hydraulics (steady state and transient) analyses.
• Build hydraulic models in SPS or AFT and evaluate pump sizing and controls.
• Prepare formal reports documenting studies and recommendations.
• Collaborate in internal/external reviews and present results.
• Conduct field data gathering for greenfield and upgrade projects.
• May seal drawings and calculations as engineer of record.
