Job summary

Tetra Tech in Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, Casper, WY, or Houston, TX seeks a hydraulics engineer to perform steady state and transient hydraulic analyses for pipelines, pump stations, and tank projects nationwide. You will build models in SPS or AFT, size pumps, and prepare technical reports.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in engineering, 3–8 years of experience, has passed the FE exam, and is willing to pursue PE licensure; travel up to 10% and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of FE exam.
• Willing to pursue PE licensure.
• Pre-employment drug screen and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and reviews drawings, pump curves, fluid properties and builds hydraulic models in SPS or AFT.
• Programs steady-state operating scenarios and tunes models with historical data.
• Assist with pump sizing, selection and control philosophy.
• Program transient cases and analyze results; recommend system adjustments.
• Assist with relief valve selection and disposal system sizing.
• Present status and results in internal/external review meetings.
• Prepare formal reports documenting studies.
• Field data gathering to support detailed engineering for greenfield and upgrades.
