Job summary

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking a hydraulics engineer to support pipelines, pump stations, and terminal/tank projects nationwide from multiple office locations including Englewood, CO; Billings, MT; Casper, WY; and Houston, TX.

The role focuses on steady state and transient hydraulic analysis of liquid pipeline systems using SPS or AFT software. Responsibilities include building hydraulic models, tuning with historical data, pump sizing and control philosophy, and presenting results in formal

Qualifications

B.S. in ABET accredited Engineering program with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
Willing to attain PE licensure.
Pre-employment drug screening per state regulations.
Valid driver's license with clean record.
Familiarity with ASME B31.4 & B31.3, API, CFR 195.

Responsibilities

Build hydraulic models in SPS or AFT and review drawings, pump curves, and fluid properties.
Program steady state operating scenarios and tune hydraulics models with historical data.
Assist with pump sizing, selection and control philosophy.
Program transient cases and complete analysis with recommended system adjustments.
Prepare formal reports documenting studies.
Conduct field investigations to support detailed engineering for greenfield and upgrades.
