Job summary

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking a hydraulics engineer to support pipelines, pump stations, and tanks from multiple offices nationwide. The role involves steady state and transient hydraulic analysis of liquids using SPS or AFT software, with opportunities for advanced training in these programs.

Qualifications

• BS in ABET-accredited engineering program with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
• Willing to attain PE licensure.
• Pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4 & B31.3, API and CFR 195 requirements.
• Experience coordinating with client SMEs and offsite team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under general direction.
• Pipeline hydraulics (steady state & transient analysis).
• Builds hydraulic models in SPS or AFT.
• Programs steady state operating scenarios and tunes hydraulics models.
• Assist with pump sizing, selection and control philosophy.
• Program transient cases and complete analysis of results.
• Prepare formal reports documenting studies.
• Facility hydraulics (steady state) modeling in AFT.
• Complete tank booster or transfer pump calculations.
• Meter sizing and field data gathering as needed.
• Participate in internal/external review meetings to discuss results.
