Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a qualified Industrial Plumber/Pipefitter to install, repair and maintain a wide range of plumbing and related systems at a commercial/industrial facility in Colorado. You will read blueprints, determine routing, and assemble components to meet code and project requirements.

The role requires a state-certified plumbing or pipefitting apprenticeship, maintenance experience, and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Valid journeyman plumber license required.
  • Experience in plumbing & pipefitting maintenance.
  • Graduated from state-certified plumbing or pipefitting apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Ability to service at commercial/industrial facilities.
  • Must obtain government security clearance if hired.
  • Able to work overtime and shifts per union agreement.
  • Must obtain Backflow Protection Assembly Tester certification.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, assembles, repairs and maintains plumbing lines, systems and accessories.
  • Determines routing and location of lines and equipment using blueprints and service requests.
  • Calculates material needs and makes connections for piping and fittings.
  • Installs and tests sanitary fixtures, gas-fired equipment, and related systems.
  • Troubleshoots major breakdowns and performs corrective actions.
  • Directs and assists other employees in related work activities.
  • Performs routine maintenance and testing to ensure reliable operation.

Job description

Job Duties


  • Installs, assembles, repairs and maintains steam, water, gas, oil, air, waste treatment, and plumbing lines, systems and accessories.

  • Determines routing and location of lines, accessories, and equipment such as inlets, outlets, vent pipes, valves, meters, gauges, hangers, brackets, water, sewer gas, air and other connections. Uses blueprints, sketches, service requests to create material list, and adheres to trade practices and plumbing codes in performance of above tasks.

  • Computes kind, size and amount of pipe connections and other materials necessary when this information is not furnished, by considering such factors as pressure, volume, gradient and substance being piped. Makes all proper plumbing connections such sweating, screwing or bolting joints. Packs all valves except those in refrigeration systems or in the power house which are 2\" or less.

  • Installs and tests sanitary plumbing fixtures such as water closets, wash basins, sinks and drinking fountains; compressed air; fire sprinkling; steam and other pressure systems; and such gas‑fired equipment as water heaters and processing tanks.

  • Performs trouble shooting, diagnosing, and takes corrective action on such items as major breakdowns, clogged main sewer lines, main gas line breakdowns, seepage contaminated water supply lines, steam equipment and devices, oxygen, hydrogen, fire sprinkling and hydraulic systems, gas‑fired equipment which does not respond to routine maintenance trouble shooting.

  • Performs functional tests as required. Performs routine cleaning, adjustment, or preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure trouble free operation.

  • Makes minor repairs to pipe insulation.

  • Installs backflow prevention devices where required. Performs functional tests, repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance only if properly certified to do so.

  • Directs, instructs and/or assists other employees in related work activities. May instruct and/or demonstrate methods of work to other employees on related work assignments as required in areas of proficiency to safely complete tasks.



Basic Qualifications


  • Possess a valid State Journeyman's Plumber's license

  • Maintenance work experience in the plumbing & pipefitting trade disciplines

  • Graduate of a state certified plumbing or pipefitting apprenticeship program or equivalent training program

  • Ability to perform service at a Commercial/Industrial Facility

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if hired as condition of employment

  • Must be able to work overtime and shifts in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Backflow Protection Assembly Tester certification



Desired Skills


  • Facilities/ industrial maintenance experience

  • Current Backflow Protection Assembly Tester certification.

  • Low pressure steam maintenance experience



Pay Information


  • $32.24 - $46.01
