Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL seeks a skilled plumber to maintain and repair plumbing systems across the campus. Focus areas include domestic water, drainage, fixtures, valves, and pumps, with safety and documentation emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Experience performing commercial, industrial, institutional, or facilities plumbing maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation
  • Experience troubleshooting domestic water, sanitary waste, drainage, piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, or related plumbing systems
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing infrastructure and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, schematics, equipment documentation, and technical manuals
  • Working knowledge of plumbing safety practices, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable plumbing codes and standards
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot plumbing failures and determine appropriate repair actions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including working from ladders and lifting
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and emergent maintenance requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access/security requirements

Who You Are

This candidate is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and modification of plumbing systems and associated facility infrastructure across the Orlando campus. Supports both planned and emergent maintenance activities involving domestic water, sanitary waste, drainage, fixtures, piping systems, valves, pumps, and other plumbing-related equipment. Independently evaluates plumbing issues, identifies root causes, determines appropriate corrective actions, and coordinates with other maintenance trades, supervisors, Engineering, contractors, and facility customers when work affects multiple building systems or occupied areas. Supports planned outages and shutdowns, minor facility modifications, Quick Path projects, and other Facilities activities requiring plumbing expertise. Responsible for completing assigned preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with applicable safety, quality, and technical requirements and accurately documenting work performed within LMBuildings. Identifies recurring equipment or system issues, recommends corrective or preventive actions, and supports continuous improvement of facility plumbing reliability. Primary responsibilities include preventive maintenance, plumbing troubleshooting and repair, piping and fixture installation, leak response, drain and sanitary system maintenance, valve and pump maintenance, outage support, minor project support, work order documentation, and coordination with other facility trades and specialized service contractors.

Standard Job Descriotion: Determines defects in, repairs, and maintains heating, water, and drainage systems in industrial or commercial establishments. Inspects high-pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions; repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters and hot water tanks; replaces washers; mends or replaces burst or leaky pipes; tests joints and pipe systems for leaks; opens clogged drains; measures, cuts, threads, bends, reams, and installs pipe and pipe fittings. Uses plumber's tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc. Maintains knowledge of local codes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting domestic water, sanitary waste, drainage, piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, or related plumbing systems

  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with plumbing maintenance activities, including working from ladders, accessing equipment areas, lifting and handling maintenance materials, and working in varying facility environments
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and emergent maintenance requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access/security requirements
Desired Skills
  • Experience performing plumbing maintenance within an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, institutional, or large campus environment
  • Journeyman plumbing license or equivalent trade certification
  • Experience maintaining domestic hot and cold water distribution systems, sanitary and storm drainage systems, pumps, valves, backflow prevention devices, and plumbing fixtures
  • Experience troubleshooting recurring leaks, drainage problems, pressure issues, or other plumbing system failures
  • Experience supporting planned plumbing or utility outages and shutdown activities
  • Experience performing piping modifications, fixture installations, and minor facility renovation work
  • Experience with backflow prevention systems, testing requirements, or associated maintenance
  • Experience coordinating plumbing activities with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, Engineering, ESH, and other facility disciplines
  • Experience supporting work performed by specialized plumbing or utility contractors
  • Experience utilizing LMBuildings, Maximo, or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Experience completing preventive maintenance from established job plans and identifying opportunities to improve maintenance requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, customer-service, and communication skills in an active operational environment
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $50300.00 - $93300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
