Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble and install piping systems for steam, hot water and HVAC equipment. You will maintain related equipment and ensure safe operation per project specifications.

Responsibilities include selecting pipe types, cutting and threading, mounting hangers, welding supports, testing for leaks and coordinating with other workers. A high school diploma and 2–3 years’ field experience are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years of field experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Capable of planning work and using proper tools safely.
• Able to visualize from plans and drawings and work at height.

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and sizes per job specs.
• Inspect worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequence.
• Cut and thread pipe using appropriate tools.
• Mount pipe hangers, brackets and supports.
• Assemble and install pipes and fittings with various joints.
• Test systems for leaks and ensure safety compliance.
• Weld pipe supports and observe machinery for malfunctions.
• Load, transport, and handle materials and tools.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
