Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a certified journeyman to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, HVAC and processing lines. Experience with welding, testing and safety compliance is required.

The role involves reading specs, selecting materials, cutting and joining pipes, mounting supports, and ensuring leak-free operation across heavy industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with experience in piping or related trades.
• Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Willingness to follow instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and sizes and related materials per job specs.
• Inspect worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequence.
• Cut, thread, bend and install pipe with appropriate fittings and tools.
• Mount hangers/brackets and assemble pipe systems, including HVAC components.
• Test piping systems for leaks and ensure compliance with safety rules.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent with related experience

NCCER certifications (written and/or practical)
