Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is hiring a Journeyman pipefitter with typically 3 years or more of field experience. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing and maintaining piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and related equipment.

You will interpret instructions, plan work, and perform independently with safety compliance. Responsibilities include selecting pipes and supports, inspecting worksites, cutting and threading pipe, bending, mounting

Qualifications

• Must have industrial pipefitter experience.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
• Work at heights without fear.
• Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment per job specs.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequence.
• Cut pipes with hacksaw, cutters, torch and machine.
• Thread pipes using threading machine; bend with tools/machines.
• Mount pipes and hangers to walls/ceilings; secure with brackets and clamps.
• Assemble and install pipes and fittings with various joints.
• Test piping systems for leaks and pressures; observe gauges.
• Observe safety rules and perform other duties as required.
