Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services seeks a Journeyman pipefitter with 3+ years of field experience. You will lay out, fabricate, install and maintain piping systems for steam, heating, cooling, and related processing equipment. Read diagrams, plan work, and work independently while adhering to safety rules.

Responsibilities include selecting pipes and supports, cutting and threading, bending, welding, and testing for leaks. Strong tool proficiency and physical endurance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience in piping or related craft.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/diagrams and plan work accordingly.
• Comfort with shop mathematics to solve problems and measure sizes.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Selects pipe types and sizes per job specs.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions and plans installation sequence.
• Cuts, threads, bends, and assembles pipes and fittings with various joints.
• Mounts supports and brackets; secures pipes to structures.
• Installs HVAC piping, refrigeration lines, and related controls.
• Tests piping for leaks and observes gauges.
• Operates tools to lift and position materials; performs minor maintenance.
