Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of piping systems for maintenance, tank, and new construction. This opportunity is in a Fab Shop environment, and production is essential.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

1. Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values.

3. Receives and understands instructions and prints regarding work assignment.
4. Interprets drawings and sketches. Plans detail of working procedure and selects materials in accordance with engineering standards.
5. Lays out work; calculates dimensions; makes sketches of piping systems when needed.
6. Sets up and operates bending, threading, and cutoff equipment and uses hand tools or torch to shape, prepare, and fabricate pipe for work to be done.
7. Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs, replaces, or installs any type of high or low pressure piping, tubing, fittings, fixtures, and parts for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines for air, water, steam, oils, gases, acid, caustics, etc.
8. Assembles and tests a variety of piping components.
9. Sets up for pipe for welded or special type joints.
10. Fastens hangers and supports.
11. Handles or makes provisions for the handling of materials, equipment, and tools to and from the job site in shop or field in connection with work.
12. Makes reports of work performed.
13. Identifies safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and takes all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
14. Performs all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the Pipefitter Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client / Site specific training. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program.
