Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician - Pipefitter (Night Shift) responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining piping systems, and providing essential maintenance support to facilities equipment. You will handle maintenance, repair, calibration, and improvement tasks for on-site equipment, utilities, facilities, and instruments to ensure smooth production, manufacturing efficiency, utility system functionality, and support R&D activities in labs, warehouses, and offices. Additionally, you will support facilities equipment maintenance and collaborate with other groups to ensure operational excellence.

Hours

Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, rotating 12-hour shifts: 4 nights on and 4 nights off

Responsibilities

• Adhere to AbbVie's code of conduct and safety policies, ensuring compliance with GMP and safe work practices.
• Ensure safety compliance by wearing PPE, participating in EHS training, reporting safety opportunities or near-misses, and supporting safety programs. Complete required training timely.
• Maintain department assets to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Document work orders, SOPs, and other relevant documentation accurately and maintain quality standards.
• Perform senior-level maintenance independently, including lubrication, inspection, repair, and fabrication of equipment and systems.
• Provide preventive and demand maintenance on equipment such as compressors, autoclaves, washers, mixers, etc., and perform pipefitting, welding, and related work.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on plant equipment, order and install parts, and perform predictive maintenance where applicable.
• Follow established procedures on routine work, recognizing when deviations are necessary, and assist in training peers on hazards and routine tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of experience, or relevant certification with 3+ years, or an associate's degree with 1+ years of experience in root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Experience in plumbing/pipefitting, including construction and maintenance in industrial settings.
• Skills in inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining piping and equipment, with knowledge of steam systems.
• Proficiency in multiple trades, including piping, mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), controls, instrumentation, and welding is a plus.
• Ability to use measuring tools and basic power tools effectively.
• Basic computer skills, especially in MS Windows, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to independently evaluate resources and make safety and policy decisions.
