Job Title: Multi-Craft Pipefitter

Department: Operations

Reports To: Multi-Craft Pipefitter Foreman

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary: At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet their unique job requests. All field employees are cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. This position primarily involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, supports, and related equipment for various industrial systems. Flexibility in skillset is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cut, thread, and assemble pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.
• Secure pipes and fittings through welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading.
• Attach pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
• Inspect and test installed systems using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, etc.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layouts and installations per specifications.
• Develop additional skills in other crafts as needed to meet customer requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and apply instructions, and solve problems involving multiple variables in standard situations.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions; occasionally exposed to heights, fumes, extreme heat, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
