THALLE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. IS SEEKING A PIPE FITTER EXPERIENCED IN HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN CLAYTON, NC!

Location: Clayton, North Carolina

Pipe Fitter Job Duties:
  1. Install, assemble, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
  3. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
  4. Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and defects using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other methods.
  5. Repair and replace damaged or worn pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  6. Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as plumbers, welders, and HVAC technicians, to ensure efficient installation and maintenance of piping systems.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Preferred)
  2. 1-3 years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in dam, reservoir, landfill, wastewater treatment plants (Required)
  3. Experience with Army Corps of Engineers projects
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills
  6. Excellent oral, written, and consultative communication skills
  7. Ability to interface effectively with all management levels and establish trust with Owners and Customers
Physical Requirements:
  1. Perform physical activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  2. Work in various weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  3. Maintain good hand-eye coordination and quick reaction times.
  4. Wear safety gear such as hard hats, glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
  5. Walk moderate distances up to 1/2 mile to reach work areas.
  6. Successfully perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity standards.
  7. Maintain punctual attendance.
  8. Communicate clearly via telephone and in person.
  9. Pass pre-employment drug screening.
