Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an experienced pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install or maintain pipe systems and related equipment in accordance with plans, specs and codes.

You will read isometrics, fabricate and install piping, weld/thread joints, and perform hydro tests with emphasis on safety and quality on a construction site.

This role requires physical work, willingness to work overtime, and ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant field experience preferred.
• Able to read, follow and transmit written/oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Capable of safe use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
• Align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes and fittings by welding and threading joints.
• Position and secure materials during installation according to plans and specs.
• Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
• Manually handle and apply rigging equipment safely.
• Operate beveling machines, grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills and Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe and supports.
• Hydro test piping systems.
