Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking a skilled tradesperson to install and maintain pipe systems on industrial sites. You will read isometric drawings, fabricate, assemble, and weld piping components, and hydro-test systems as required.

Ideal candidates have intermediate experience, can work in outdoor industrial environments, and are capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to follow complex plans and safety rules is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Reading isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping efficiently.
• Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment by welding and threading.
• Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; and install all items per plans.
• Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
• Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
• Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
• Hydro test piping systems.
