Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX seeks an entry-level craftsperson to assist skilled trades with fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping and related equipment on site. The role requires following instructions and learning from supervision on various tasks.

Responsibilities include reading isometric drawings, wiring up components, installing pipes, and assisting with hydro testing, with exposure to outdoor weather and demanding environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used on site.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read isometric drawings and take measurements for piping.
• Assist craftsman to align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assist with assembly, threading, and securing of pipes and equipment.
• Position and secure materials during installation and verify plans.
• Learn to distinguish metal thicknesses and types; handle rigging equipment.
• Operate tools such as beveling machines, grinders, hammers, torches, drills, and Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, pumps, pipe, and supports; assist hydro testing.
